What You Don’t See:
Stories of Brain Injury
Thank you for the generosity and support you’ve shown over the past year. Your donations have made a real difference in the lives of Nebraskans affected by brain injury. Because of supporters like you, we provided direct support to hundreds of individuals and families, hosted statewide education and training opportunities, expanded our outreach efforts, and grew our team to its largest size yet, allowing us to serve more people than ever before.
As we look ahead, we hope you will consider making a contribution to help us continue this work. According to the Nebraska TBI registry, each year an estimated 13,850 Nebraskans are hospitalized due to a traumatic brain injury. This number does not include strokes, tumors, oxygen deprivation, or other acquired brain injuries — all of which can lead to lifelong impacts that require specialized support, understanding, and care.
This year’s annual campaign highlights the faces and stories of individuals with brain injuries, caregivers, and advocates from communities across Nebraska. At the 2025 Nebraska Brain Injury Conference, we partnered with A Peace of My Mind, a multimedia storytelling project by artist John Noltner, to capture and honor these stories.
You can learn more about the project and view the full gallery HERE.
