What You Don’t See:
Stories of Brain Injury
Thank You For Supporting Our Annual Appeal
Thanks to the generosity of our community, our 2025 Annual Appeal raised $17,837 from 40 donors to support individuals and families affected by brain injury across Nebraska. Your gifts directly strengthen our programs, services, and advocacy work, helping us continue to build a more supportive future for our community.
If you haven’t yet had a chance to explore all the powerful stories featured in our campaign, we invite you to scroll down and meet the individuals and families whose journeys inspired last year’s effort.
According to the Nebraska TBI registry, each year an estimated 13,850 Nebraskans are hospitalized due to a traumatic brain injury. This number does not include strokes, tumors, oxygen deprivation, or other acquired brain injuries — all of which can lead to lifelong impacts that require specialized support, understanding, and care.
2025’s annual campaign highlighted the faces and stories of individuals with brain injuries, caregivers, and advocates from communities across Nebraska. At the 2025 Nebraska Brain Injury Conference, we partnered with A Peace of My Mind, a multimedia storytelling project by artist John Noltner, to capture and honor these stories.

2025 Concert Fundraiser
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Nebraska Medical Orchestra and Choir’s Winter Concert in support of BIA-NE. With more than 400 people in attendance, the evening was filled with music, connection, and community.
Thanks to your generosity, the event raised over $1,700 to support individuals and families affected by brain injury across Nebraska. We are grateful to the performers, attendees, and volunteers who helped make this night so meaningful.
Our Annual Appeal may have ended, but the need for support continues.
If you were inspired by the stories shared in this campaign, you can still make a difference. Your donation helps individuals and families across Nebraska access education, resources, and support after brain injury.
Thank you for being part of our community.
