Support Opportunities to Connect, Learn, and Grow with Your Gift.

Growth rarely occurs in isolation.

When you connect with others to learn and share perspectives and stories, you have the opportunity to grow. We recognize that and believe that it is important to provide ways for individuals living with a brain injury and caregivers alike to connect, learn, and share together through workshops and other learning opportunities.

Two workshops we’ve had the pleasure of offering this year include an autobiography workshop and Wise Minds. Both workshops use person-centered approaches to offer supportive connections that build upon relationships that may have the common thread of brain injury. They also focus on each person’s capability to adapt to life’s challenges and strive for personal goals and purpose.

Jodi took part in the autobiography workshop and shared the following about her experience.

“[....]I am grateful you invited me to participate in this course. It was a great way for me to think about my life prior to the fateful day I spent 14 hours at Blackhawk State Park. I loved hearing others' stories and developing an appreciation for their unique experiences and beautiful lives without focusing on the issue of brain injury as a survivor or caregiver. I enjoyed discovering similarities in our stories and having some of my own memories awakened by hearing the other writer's stories. I basically fell in love with all the writers through the openness, honesty, and vulnerabilities they all shared. I quite enjoyed laughing along with the group and bolstering each other's confidence. I am so hopeful I will keep writing as the rest of the group does, too. We all have a great story to share….”

Cynthia participated in the Wise Minds workshop series and shared:

“In addition to increasing self-awareness, personal well-being, and skills when working with others, the Wise Mind training created space to connect and form community. I am grateful for the opportunity to participate.”
